The Duluth Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a man early Sunday morning, KSTP sister station WDIO reports.

Police received a report of shots fired  in the 300 block of 62nd Avenue West at about 1:47 a.m.

Officers found a 33-year-old man inside a vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound to his midsection. The man was pronounced dead at a hospital.

It is not known if the man lived in the area where he was found.

Police said they cannot release any other details because their investigation is still underway.
