When asked if she'd be interested in attending Ujamaa Place's Power Hour this week to hear stories about men attempting to overcome barriers to find stability, renowned drummer and vocalist Sheila E. didn't hesitate to say yes.

Sheila E. was invited after last week's Ujamaa Place breakfast, which featured Dr. Bernice A. King, daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. She wanted to hear the men's stories and help inspire them to continue the hard work toward building stable lives.

Ujamaa Place is an African American culturally-centric organization focused on young men who may suffer barriers to becoming stable, according to its website.
