One person was taken to a hospital after a tanker crash in Pierce County, Wisconsin.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to a one-vehicle crash on State Highway 29, near County Road F in Clifton Township, at about 1:22 p.m. Friday.

The sheriff's office said a 2004 Peterbilt was traveling south on County Road F and entered the ditch before attempting to turn west onto State Highway 29. Once on the highway, the truck reentered the ditch, causing the attached tanker to separate from the truck and roll onto its side.

According to the sheriff's office, the truck remained upright and stopped on the roadway. The tanker was empty.

The driver, John Peterson, 59, of River Falls, was transported to a hospital with undetermined injuries.
