An Albany women crashed her vehicle Tuesday morning when she swerved to miss a dead deer on the road. 

According to the Stearns County Sheriff's Office, 32-year-old Kelly Lanners was driving her white 2017 Toyota Corolla northbound on County Road 2 when she came upon a dead deer in the roadway. Lanners swerved to avoid the deer carcass, but ended up driving into a ditch and hitting a sign.


Her two younger son were also passengers during the crash, but they weren't injured, the sheriff's office said. They were using their seat belts and child restraint seats when the crash happened. 

Lanners was transported to St. Cloud Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. 

The vehicle was towed from the scene and the deer was removed from the roadway.
