A dog and a number of cats were able to survive a structure fire that occurred in Osseo Monday night.

According to a release from the Osseo Fire Department, firefighters were called just after 5:10 p.m. to the 100 block of Third Street Northeast on the report of a garage fire. When firefighters arrived, they found the fire had extended into the attached residence. 


Firefighters were able to rescue a dog and cat from the fire and provided care at the scene. 

Two cats were able to hide in an unburnt basement. They were rescued Tuesday morning. 

Authorities are seeking information about the fire from the public. Anyone who was in the area the time the fire started is also asked to contact the Osseo Police and Fire Department at 763-424-5444.
