Did you know thousands of doctors in Minnesota are breaking the law, in the middle of the opioid crisis?

The 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS investigative team found state regulators are doing little to enforce the law.

A new law states prescribers of narcotics must sign up for a system known as the Prescription Monitoring Program. 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS found thousands of doctors, dentists, pharmacists and other medical professionals broke that law.

On 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS Monday at 10 p.m., a widow who lost her husband to addiction responds to the findings. Plus, a state regulator explains why the law isn't being enforced.
