The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says a northern pike caught by a Woodbury angler in May will stand as a state record.

Matthew Swanson caught the 45 1/4-inch fish while on a fishing trip with his father and brother on the Rainy River. It surpasses a record 43 1/2-inch pike caught on Mille Lacs in early October.
