Researchers from the University of Minnesota's Aquatic Invasive Species Research Center are trying something new to control invasive common carp.
It's a Whoosh System used to help salmon migrate over dams for spawning, but they have adapted it to remove carp from lakes and rivers.
Eventually carp will swim right into the carp cannon.
This drone video, provided by the University, shows a birds-eye view of the setup on Rice Creek between Long Lake and Lino Lakes, and the massive amounts of carp they put in boats to be removed by the carp cannon.
