Digital Daily: New York 9/11 Memorial Glade

May 30, 2019 04:27 PM

On Thursday, officials with the National September 11 Memorial and Museum dedicated the 9/11 Memorial Glade.

The Memorial Glad honors those who are suffering or have died from exposure to toxins in the aftermath of 9/11.

A historic modification of the 9/11 Memorial, the Glade also recognizes the courage, selflessness and perseverance of the individuals involved in the rescue and recovery effort.

The design includes a pathway and six large stone monoliths inlaid with melted down World Trade Center steel.

The Glade is located where the primary ramp that was used during the rescue effort once stood.

The new Memorial will honor the first responders, workers, survivors, residents and others for many years to come.
