For those traveling through the sky this holiday, it is advised to be aware of some rough weather, especially in the upper
Midwest.

According to Delta's website, a weather waiver has been proactively issued for 11 airports in the Northern Plains ahead of winter weather forecasted for the area.

While normal operations are expected at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, regional airports throughout Minnesota and the Dakotas may see operations impacted from winter weather conditions.

More from KSTP:

The website states, "If you wish to cancel your trip as a result of a flight cancelation or significant delay (90 minutes or more), you are entitled to a refund for the unused portion of your ticket."

The weather waiver allows customers traveling to, from or through the affected cities on Wednesday, Dec. 26 and Thursday, Dec. 27, to make a one-time change to their travel plans without incurring a fee.

Customers are encouraged to check Delta's website or the Fly Delta Mobile App for the latest flight status.
