The Dakota County Sheriff's Office says one of its K9 partners has died.

In a social media post, the sheriff's office said, "It is with a heavy heart we pass on that Sergeant Schuster had to make the tough decision to lay to rest his K-9 partner and best friend "Ace" last night."

The post said Ace was with the department from 2007-2015.
