Crews will be repairing potholes early next week, which will close lanes and cause delays on Interstate 35W, according to the city.

The work will take place between Highway 55/Hiawatha Avenue and 42nd Street in Minneapolis on March 18 and 19, crews said.


Starting at 8:30 a.m. Monday until approximately 2 p.m., southbound I-35W will be a single lane in the area.

Northbound I-35W will also be down to a single lane starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday between 42nd Street and I-94. Those lanes are expected to reopen by 3 p.m., crews said.

Additionally, one lane will close on I-94 between I-394 at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, and at 10 p.m. an another lane will close so crews can restripe the road. All lanes are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Tuesday.

The lane closures allow crews to repair potholes will a longer-lasting, hot-mix product.
