Dispatch said the fire was "fully involved" at that time.

An investigator from the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco and Explosives was at the scene, which is standard for any church fire.

Pastor Eli Somers said no one was in the church at the time of the fire. Nearly three hours after it was first called in, flames were still burning on the church's steeple.

The church celebrated its 160th anniversary in September.
