One man is dead after a three-vehicle accident on I-694 at Stillwater Boulevard North in Oakdale Sunday morning.

The State Patrol accident report states that a 2011 Lincoln MKS was on the right side of the northbound roadway, with its driver on the outside of the vehicle, when a Chevrolet Silverado drifted onto the right shoulder, striking the Lincoln at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

The impact reportedly caused the Lincoln's driver, identified as Darryl Leroy Bell,46 of Minneapolis, to be thrown northbound to the right shoulder.

Bell was pronounced dead at the scene due to the impact with the Silverado. The Lincoln had one passenger, identified as Sandra Lee Bell.

The Silverado, driven by Thomas Edmund Soller, 70, then veered into the left lane, striking a Buick Regal, driven by Nithyashree Madan of California, the report states.

The truck then veered back across the roadway and ended up in the east ditch where it came to a rest.

Traffic had been diverted to 10th Street while authorities worked to clean up wreckage. The road was fully operational by Sunday Afternoon.

"Somebody woke up this morning and they were a couple and now tonight there's a widow, and that's the sad part of it," Jane Sullivan who lives near the accident said.

The State Patrol reported no other injuries.
