Eagan police report a crash with injuries involving a motorcycle and semi Wednesday afternoon briefly shut down Yankee Doodle Road eastbound at Ivy Lane.

Yankee Doodle Road westbound was reduced to one lane. Around 5:20 p.m., the Eagan Police Department tweeted that all lanes were reopened.

Motorists in the area were asked to drive carefully.

According to police, both vehicles were eastbound on Yankee Doodle Road when the semi attempted a U-turn near Elrene Road. The motorcyclist hit the semi's driver's side door.

Evidence and witness testimony suggests the motorcyclist was speeding at the time of the crash, police said. Though his identity has not been released, police said he sustained "significant injury" and was transported to Regions Hospital. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Neither driver is facing charges at this time, according to police.
