Police are investigating after a woman was found dead and a man was found injured at an apartment complex in Coon Rapids.

The incident was reported at 1:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, on the 9200 block of University Avenue Northwest after residents called police to say a man with obvious signs of injury was in the entryway of the building.


Officers arrived and found a second person – a 34-year-old woman – dead in one of the apartment units. She was identified as 34-year-old Rebecca Lee Drewlo.

During the investigation, police learned the man and woman had a previous relationship. At this time, they believe the incident was between these two parties and did not involve anyone else.

Police say the 24-year-old man is in critical condition at Mercy Hospital. He was identified as Lucas Anthony Jablonski.

No other details have been released.
