Conservationists in Cambodia say their efforts to save rare turtles are paying off.

The Wildlife Conservation Society says 23 newly hatched royal turtles were found in three nests.

They say they’ve found more hatchlings this year than the previous three years combined.

The organization took the hatchlings from a beach area to the conservation center.

A global organization lists the royal turtle as "critically endangered." It’s also Cambodia’s national reptile.
