The petition will allow North Memorial Health Hospital, where the woman was taken Monday, to keep her until next week when a court hearing would take place to determine if there's cause to further hold her.

The mother called police on Monday to report her 11-year-old daughter had run away. The girl was found later found safe.

Police say another child was found living in a nearby park, a third was found at a friend's house and a fourth was in the home that officials say is uninhabitable.

Another child, an 8-year-old boy, died at the same house last February. An investigation into his death is ongoing.
