One person was critically injured and a child suffered minor injuries after a shooting and vehicle rollover in St. Paul's West Side Sunday.

St. Paul Police said officers were called to 475 Wabasha Street S. at about 5:15 p.m. on reports of shots fired.

According to police, a man and 4-year-old boy were found with gunshot wounds inside a 2019 Jeep Cherokee that was rolled over.

Police said the man had a gunshot wound to his head and was unconscious when officers arrived on-scene. The 4-year-old had a gunshot wound to his foot.

Both were taken to a hospital. Police said the man's injuries were life-threatening, and the boy's were non life-threatening.

Jarrold McNeal told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS his son and grandson are the shooting victims, and he arrived at the crime scene to see if he could get information from police.

"I just came down here to see what's going on and try to get some information," said McNeal.  "Right now, they are not telling me much other than it looks like my grandson is going to be okay, but no word on my son."

Tyree McRoy told KSTP he lives across the street from where the shooting happened and heard commotion and then a bunch of "chaos" out on the street.

"I heard about eight gunshots and my twin sisters went upstairs just to be safe," said McRoy.  "Then, I went outside, to see what's going on, and I saw an SUV flipped over in the street and it looked like the windows were shot out the back."

With the two injuries, St. Paul Police said there have now been 124 shooting victims this year in the city, and 22 have been homicides.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the department at 651-266-5650.

The incident remains under investigation.

No suspects were in custody as of Sunday night.
