Chauvin trial receives worldwide news coverage

With the eyes of the world watching the trial of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer charged in George Floyd’s death, members of the international media are in Minneapolis to cover the case.

Several members of the media did live shots outside the Hennepin County Government Center Monday morning.

Associated Press Correspondent Philip Crowther did live broadcasts on the trial for stations around the globe.

“This story is being followed around the world,” Crowther said. “You might remember these protests that happened after George Floyd’s death, they didn’t only happen here in the United States, they were worldwide protests.”

Many of the international media plan to return to Minneapolis once a verdict is reached.
