Chaska Post Office Mailbox Broken Into, Police Say

The Chaska Police Department said it strongly believes a large quantity of mail was stolen when a mailbox at the Chaska Post Office was broken into over the weekend.

A release states the exterior curb-side drop-off mailbox at the Post Office, located at 300 North Pine Street, was broken into sometime between 3:30 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday.

The suspect either removed or cut off the large brass paddle locks to gain access to the mailbox's interior.

The release also states three similar mail thefts have been reported in Chanhassen over the past week.

Police are advising anyone who dropped mail in the curb-side box in Chaska between Saturday and Sunday to take appropriate measures to protect themselves.
