37-Mile Chase Ends With Arrest of Aitkin Man

A 56-year-old Aitkin man is being held in Morrison County Jail awaiting charges after authorities say he led them on a 37-mile pursuit Monday afternoon.

A release from the Morrison County Sheriff's Department states a Pierz police officer located a vehicle occupied by a subject with an active arrest warrant behind a grocery store around 4:17 p.m. Monday.

The officer attempted to stop the vehicle and a chase ensued, ending in Mille Lacs County. Tracy Wagner Sr. was arrested and is being held pending formal charges.

In addition to the Morrison County Sheriff's Department and Pierz police, the Mille Lacs County Sheriff's Office, the Mille Lacs Tribal Police Department and the state patrol all assisted in the incident.
