A Henning, Minnesota, man died after he fell through a skylight Thursday afternoon in Otter Tail County, authorities said.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office said David Brutlag, 63, was working with some friends on the roof of a large residence around 2:40 p.m. Thursday just north of Henning. Brutlag stepped on a skylight, which was obscured by snow, crashed through and fell about 20 feet.


His friends tried to rescue him, and first responders also tried to save him when they arrived on the scene, the sheriff's office said. He was taken to a hospital in Wadena, where he was pronounced dead.
