People in Cass Lake were treated to some great food in massive proportions on a historic day, this past weekend.

On Saturday, the Cedar Lakes Casino-Hotel set a Guinness World Record for the largest frybread taco. Guinness Book official adjudicator Mike Marcotte was on hand to make it an official world record.

According to officials, the frybread alone weighed in at 150.2 pounds without the taco toppings, and measured 8 feet in diameter. The designers and builders of the cooker used to make the record frybread taco are Rick and Jeff Baird, owners of Cass Metal Craft.

Over 500 guests attended the event and enjoyed a piece of the monstrous frybread taco.

Cedar Lakes Casino-Hotel and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe are planning to set or break another world record in 2020 when they will hold their one-year anniversary.
