Authorities are working to assess damage to the Soo Line Trail.

According to the Cass County Sheriff's Office, deputies as well as the ATV Search and Rescue Volunteers conducted trail monitoring on the trail south of Remer this weekend.

The assessment revealed several areas of washed out trail and trail hazards, which were flagged. Authorities said the damage was the result of recent heavy rain.

Authorities urged "extreme caution" while in the area and said arrangements are being made for trail repairs.
