The longest running festival in the city of Burnsville kicks off on Sept. 4 and runs through Sept. 7.

The Burnsville Fire Muster, which began in 1980 as a neighborhood-based gathering, has grown to incorporate more events and attractions as the years have passed. Click HERE for a full list of events.

The free all-ages event takes place in various locations depending on the day.

Tami Allen, a board member of Burnsville Fire Muster, and Dan Keeley, the event's city liaison, met with KSTP's Brandi Powell to talk about the celebration.
