A Brooklyn Center woman has been found guilty of murder in connection to the March death of a 9-month-old boy she was babysitting.

Jennifer Lynn Baldwin, 38, was found guilty of second-degree unintentional murder and third-degree assault on Friday.

A criminal complaint states first responders were called on March 15, 2018 to a Brooklyn Center home on the report of an infant who needed medical attention. When responders arrived, they found a 9-month-old boy who was, "lethargic and laboring to breathe." The child was taken to a hospital, but died five days later.

The child's mother told investigators she dropped the child off at Baldwin's at 10 a.m., and said the child appeared to by physically fine, according to the complaint.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office ruled the boy died from a blunt force head injury.

The complaint said Baldwin admitted in a later interview that she had handled the child "aggressively" and "roughly" that morning.

Her sentencing is set for July 22.
