A body has been recovered from Hay Lake in northern Minnesota.

According to the Cass County Sheriff's Office, the body was recovered from the lake Wednesday at 4:20 p.m. An autopsy has been scheduled with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.


The individual's identity has been withheld pending notification of family, according to the sheriff's office.

According to authorities, a search was launched after the sheriff's office received a report that two individuals had been throwing from a boat on Hay Lake Tuesday.

Authorities were able to find and rescue the man who had been operating the boat. He was treated for minor injuries. Authorities were unable to find the other victim during the search Tuesday.

The Lakes Area Dive Team and the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene Wednesday.
