Body of missing vulnerable adult found in Albert Lea

The body of a missing vulnerable adult last seen in Albert Lea has been found.

According to the Albert Lea Police Department, an autopsy was performed Tuesday on remains that had been found between Fountain Lake and Albert Lea Lake. The remains were positively identified by the Ramsey County medical examiner as being 21-year-old Nicholas Richard Ramirez.

The death was ruled as being probable fresh water drowning, police stated. Police said the autopsy revealed the death was not considered to be suspicious.

Ramirez was last seen on June 29 heading to a Walmart.

"The Albert Lea Police Department extends our deepest sympathies to the Ramirez family," the department wrote in a statement.
