Body found in burned building in Minneapolis, police say

Police say a body was discovered inside of a burned building in south Minneapolis Monday morning.

The Minneapolis Police Department said the body was discovered in the wreckage of Max It Pawn on East Lake Street.

Police believe it is the body of a man.

The identity of the body and nature of death will be released by the medical examiner’s office.

In June, 25-year-old Montez Terril Lee was charged by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in connection to the arson of the building.

The building was set on fire during the protests that surrounded the death of George Floyd.
