Bloomington residents have reported recent sightings of a large cat, described as looking like a cougar.

According to a release from the city Wednesday, residents in the area of 102nd Street and Chicago Avenue have reported two sightings in the past three days.

City officials said there haven't yet been any photos taken of the animal.

According to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, there have been about 30 cougar sightings in the past 15 years.

Those who see or encounter a cougar are advised to stay calm, make themselves look as large as possible while slowly backing away and leaving a clear exit for the cougar.
