The City of Bloomington Housing and Redevelopment Authority donated land to provide housing for homeless veterans. On Monday, city officials held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the construction of the new home.

The four-bedroom home will be built at 9416 Penn Avenue S. to help address the growing need of housing for homeless veterans.

The Housing First Minnesota Foundation and Lennar will build the home, which will then be owned and operated by the Minneapolis Assistance Council for Veterans. In addition to housing, veterans will receive support services provided by the Minneapolis Assistance Council for Veterans.
