A female bicyclist was hit and killed in Ham Lake late Wednesday night, according to authorities.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office reported the incident happened along Highway 65 and 157th Avenue just before 11 p.m.

Investigators at the scene said they believe the bicyclist was riding her bike northbound in the highway's middle lanes of traffic when she was hit. Life-saving efforts were unsuccessful and the bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said two vehicles were also involved in the crash. No other injuries were reported.

The bicyclist's identity has not yet been released.
