Beloved 88-year-old school bus driver Glen Davis died on Saturday.

The community that loved him got together Friday to not only mourn his loss, but to celebrate his sense of humor and personality one last time.

Davis was being buried in a casket that looks like the school bus he drove for 55 years. He had built it over the last six years with a friend. The number '3' was on the casket, the same numbered-bus he started driving in 1949.

"He is very proud of the fact that he hauled three generations you know of kids and later on their kids and later on their grandkids," said transportation director Gary Sloan.

Funeral services were held Friday in Grand Meadow.

One of Davis' proudest achievements: he never got in an accident.
