Authorities seek information after dog shot in Scott County

Authorities in Scott County are seeking information after a dog named Kerby was shot in Belle Plaine Township Monday morning.

According to a release from the Scott County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called around 10 a.m. to the 27000 block of Church Avenue on the report of a dog with gunshot wounds in a ditch.


When deputies arrived, they located a male German Shepard with multiple gunshot wounds.

A witness reported seeing a vehicle near the property, heard gunshots and saw the vehicle drive off. 

The truck was identified as a late 2000s gray pickup with knobby tires and red circles around the hub caps. 

Anyone with information is asked to call the Scott County Sheriff's Office at 952-455-1411.
