The St. Charles Police Department is asking for help from the public in locating a missing 88-year-old woman.

A release said Patricia Poole of St. Charles was last seen Monday near her Halter Heights apartment. She is believed to be traveling on foot and was last seen wearing a white coat, black shoes and carrying a black handbag.

Because of the length of time she has been missing, and the weather, authorities are concerned for her welfare. Searches have been conducted, but she has not been located.

She is described as standing 5-foot-6 and weighing 140 pounds with blue eyes and gray hair.

Authorities are asking the public to check along roadsides, and in garages, vacant vehicles, fields, or any other normally obstructed areas where she might have sought shelter.

Anyone with information about Poole's whereabouts is asked to call the Winona County Sheriff's Department at 507-932-4500, or to dial 911.
