Authorities in Becker County are investigating an incident where a man pulled a woman over in her vehicle and impersonated a law enforcement officer.

According to a release from the Becker County Sheriff's Office, a woman was driving on Highway 7 north of Lake Park when a vehicle in front of her activated white and blue lights on the rear window of the vehicle.

The woman pulled over because she believed she was being stopped by a law enforcement officer.

The sheriff's office said a man approached her vehicle and told her she had a broken light. The man asked for her identification and asked her to step out of the vehicle.

Because the man did not appear to be a law enforcement officer, the woman asked to see his credentials. After the request, the man went back to his vehicle – described as a white jeep – and drove off.

The man was described as being between 25 to 30 years of age with a goatee. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black winter hat and a dark jacket with what appeared to be a radio microphone on the lapel of his jacket.

Anyone who has information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Becker County Sheriff's Office at 218-847-2661.
