Arrest Made in Fatal Stabbing Near School in St. Paul Park

An arrest has been made in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred near a Spanish immersion school in St. Paul Park Wednesday night.

According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, a suspect was taken into custody and is being held at the Washington County Jail. Formal charges are pending, the sheriff's office reported.

The incident happened at about 7:30 p.m. on the 1000 block of Third Street, near the Nuevas Fronteras Spanish Immersion School, according to authorities.

Upon arrival, authorities reported finding one person who had been stabbed several times. That individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities reported the stabbing was fatal, however, details about those involved have not yet been released.

K9s assisted at the scene and helicopters were deployed to help search for suspects.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the sheriff's office are continuing to investigate.
