No plans this weekend? Need to get out of the house? Here is a look at what is going on in the Twin Cities this weekend. 

Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at the Minnesota Zoo 


Get an idea for your next jack-o-lantern during the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at the Minnesota Zoo. The event displays over 5,000 illuminated pumpkins. 

Date: Daily through Oct. 31

Time: 7 to 11 p.m.

Place: Minnesota Zoo, Apple Valley 

St. Paul Art Crawl

See what local artists are up to during the St. Paul Art Crawl. The annual event serves as a chance for members of the St. Paul Art Collective to display their work. According to the organizers, the number of artists participating in the art crawl exceeds 300, with about 20,000 attendees. The St. Paul Art Collective holds art crawls every fall and spring. 

Date: Friday - Sunday

Stillwater Harvest Fest

Celebrate the fact the fall season is in full swing with the Stillwater Harvest Festival. The weekend-long event offers family-friendly activities, including a chili cook-off, a pumpkin regatta, a kids costume parade, face painting and more. Live music and a beer garden can also be enjoyed during the festival.

Sever's Fall Festival 

For those not headed to Harvest Fest in Stillwater, Sever's Fall Festival offers yet another chance to celebrate the season. The festival offers a pumpkin patch, corn maze and live performances. According to the event's website, the event is the Midwest's original fall festival. The festival is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 28.

Date: Friday - Sunday through Oct. 28

Place: Shakopee

Twin Cities Harvest Festival and Maze 

Experience the states largest corn maze at the Twin Cities Harvest Festival and Maze. This year, the maze celebrates the Minnesota Timberwolves' 30th season. Along with the maze, families can enjoy a corn pit, straw bale maze, hayride, a petting zoo and more. 

Date: Saturday and Sunday, weekends through Oct. 28.

Place: Brooklyn Park

Hyland Hill Fall Chairlift Rides 

Catch a birds-eye view of the fall colors in the Twin Cities during the Hyland Hills fall chairlift rides. The event allows visitors to take in the views from the highest elevation in Hennepin County. The event also includes live music and s'mores by a campfire. 

Date: Friday and Saturday

Time: 5 to 9 p.m.

Place: Hyland Hills Ski Area, Bloomington 

Gasthof's Oktoberfest Festival 

Have yet to make it to an Oktoberfest celebration this fall? You can still fit one in by heading to Gasthof's over the weekend to enjoy German food, polka music and beer during the restaurant's annual Oktoberfest celebration. This weekend marks the last weekend of the restaurant's celebration.

Date: Friday and Saturday

Time: 5 to 11 p.m.

Place: Gasthof zur Gemutlichkeit, Minneapolis 

4th Street Market District Block Party

Take in downtown St. Paul while enjoying fall fun during the 4th Street Market District Block Party. The event's activities include pumpkin decorating, live music, food and local brews.

Time: 4 to 8 p.m.

Place: 12welve Eyes Brewing, St. Paul

Twin Cities Book Festival

Bibliophiles unite! Over the weekend, the Upper Midwest's largest literary event will take place at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. The Twin Cities Book Festival includes hundreds of exhibitors, presenting authors and children's programming. 

Date: Saturday

Time: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Place: Minnesota State Fairgrounds

Minneapolis Zombie Pub Crawl

Toss on some zombie makeup and join what the Guinness Book of World Records has called the "World's Largest Gathering of Zombies." For the first time since its inception, the Zombie Pub Crawl will return to Northeast Minneapolis. The ghoulish event includes pub crawling, live entertainment and more. 

Date: Saturday

Time: 3 to 10 p.m.

Place: Hall's Island, Minneapolis

Meritage Oysterfest 

Shellfish fans can get their fill Sunday during Meritage Oysterfest. The event includes plenty of oysters, live music and an oyster shucking showdown. Summit Brewing will also be serving up the Skipjack Oyster Stout.

Time: Noon to 6 p.m.

Place: Meritage, St. Paul
