The Gophers football team will be playing in the 2020 Outback Bowl on Jan. 1 against the Auburn Tigers in Tampa Bay, Florida.

Alongside them, a Minnesota high school marching band will be there to perform. Back in April, the Armstrong High School marching band was accepted to perform at the Outback Bowl and the Disney World Parade.

Besides the football game, the Outback Bowl plays host to an annual mass band performance featuring as many as 15 high school bands and over 300 dancers.

Armstrong High School will also be represented in the Disney World Magic Kingdom Parade on Dec. 28, according to a Facebook post. They are set to perform at the Outback Bowl Parade in Ybor City, Florida on Dec. 31, as well as the Outback Bowl Halftime Show on New Year's Day on Jan. 1.

This will be the school's fifth trip to Florida to perform at the bowl game and Disney World.

"Former students return to say this Armstrong trip was one of the highlights of their high school career," said Todd Burkholder, Armstrong Band Director.

The band consists of grades 9 through 12. The department includes marching band, freshman band, concert band, symphonic band, jazz bands, pep band, percussion ensemble, pit orchestra and participating in full orchestra.
