Pedestrian Killed After Being Hit by Vehicle in Spring Lake Park

A 59-year-old Forest Lake man was killed after being hit by a vehicle Monday night in Spring Lake Park.

A release from the Anoka County Sheriff's Department said Spring Lake Park police responded to a report of a vehicle/pedestrian crash on the 8100 block of the southbound lanes on Highway 65 at around 8:05 p.m. Monday.

A minivan, driven by a 30-year-old female from Fridley, was traveling southbound on Highway 65 when the vehicle struck the pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the mini-van was treated at the scene for minor injuries, the release states.

Identifications of those involved have not yet been released pending notification of family members. The crash is still under investigation.
