9 injured in 4 shootings, 1 stabbing overnight in Minneapolis

Several shootings and a stabbing were reported overnight in Minneapolis, police spokesperson John Elder said Wednesday.

A total of nine people were injured, according to reports from the Minneapolis Police Department. So far no suspects are in custody.

10:06 p.m. — Shooting injures 1 in south Minneapolis

A group of people got into an argument just after 10 p.m. Tuesday on the 2900 block of Columbus Avenue in south Minneapolis, Elder said.

Shots were fired, striking a male victim, who was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds that did not appear to be life-threatening.

11:25 p.m. — 3 injured in drive-by shooting

Officers responded to a report of a shooting around 11:25 p.m. Tuesday on the 1100 block of 21st Avenue North. When they arrived on scene, they found two women who were suffering from gunshot wounds, Elder said.

The severity of their injuries is unknown, but police said a tourniquet was applied to one of the victim's extremities as a life-saving measure.

A third victim went to a hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

According to Elder, the victims were outside when shots were fired at them from a vehicle that drove by.

11:32 p.m. — 2 men injured in north Minneapolis shooting

Two adult male victims were shot just past 11:30 p.m. Tuesday on the 600 block of West Broadway Avenue, according to police investigation.

The victims showed up at the hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. They told police they were shot by someone they couldn't see.

11:37 p.m. — Shooting injures 2 near George Floyd memorial

Two separate adult males came to Hennepin County Medical Center with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds Tuesday night. The victims only said they were shot in the area of 38th Street and Chicago Avenue, Elder said.

Investigators are working to gather more information.

12:41 a.m. — 1 injured in stabbing in Lyndale neighborhood

Officers responded to a report of a shooting around 12:41 a.m. Wednesday on the 300 block of West 32nd Street. They found a male victim suffering from non-life-threatening stab wounds, Elder said.

The victim said he didn't know what happened and that he woke up and was injured.

The incident is under investigation.
