An 80-year-old woman was found dead after a crash Thursday night in St. Paul.

According to the St. Paul Police Department, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Pacific and Mound streets just after 5 p.m. to investigate a one-vehicle crash.

When officers arrived, they discovered the 80-year-old woman who was driving the vehicle had crashed into a sound barrier for Interstate 94 on Pacific Street.

The driver was not breathing and had no pulse when officers arrived. She was taken to Regions Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Officials said it's possible the driver suffered a medical episode prior to the crash.

The crash is under investigation.
