6-year-old dies after vehicle fire in Fridley Walmart parking lot

One of the two girls critically injured in a vehicle fire at a Fridley Walmart parking lot Tuesday morning has died.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office confirmed the 6-year-old girl died from her injuries. A GoFundMe identified the 6-year-old as Ty'rah White.


The 9-year-old remains hospitalized, but her condition Wednesday is unknown. A family friend identified the 9-year-old as Taraji White

Roberto Lino Hipolito, 70, who drove a van that was parked next to the one the girls were in, was arrested and booked into the Anoka County Jail on probable cause negligent fires.

The cause of the fire is said to have been caused by a hot stove in the rear of the vehicle.
