Another 8-year old, a 9-year old and a 13-year old were all hurt during the attack.  Two of the students were cut on the head and needed stitches.  They have been treated and released.  The third victim did not need medical attention.

The incident happened at 7:15 a.m. Monday at Pleasantview Elementary School. Investigators are still trying to determine if there was a motive or an intended target.

"He is cooperating, he is visiting with investigators.  His parents are cooperating," Sauk Rapids Police Chief Perry Beise said.

Beise says the student was released to his parents and won't likely face charges because he's so young.

"We hope he can get the kind of help he needs," Beise said.

Meanwhile, other parents were anxious for the dismissal bell Monday afternoon. First-grade parent Nadine Feia was waiting on the sidewalk to give her son a hug.

"I was pretty shaken up. I got the email and started crying. It doesn't really hit home until it happens where your kids go," Feia said.
