3 arrested in connection to shooting in Moorhead

Two people have been arrested in connection to a shooting in Moorhead earlier this month.

Moorhead Police said officers were called to the 1200 block of Fifth Street for a loud party that evolved into a shooting at about 12:52 a.m. on Sept. 19.

A 19-year-old, from Fargo, N.D., suffered a single gunshot to his lower leg. The suspects fled before officers arrived.

On Sunday, officers arrested 19-year-old Sam Payne Jr., of Moorhead, and 19-year-old Yorell Taylor, of Fargo, for weapons-related offenses and having stolen guns.

Police also arrested 20-year-old Abednego Thomas Jr., of West Fargo, on felony warrants and second-degree assault charges relating to the incident.

An investigation remains active.
