According to the Columbia Heights Police Department, a 17-year-old victim, from Maple Grove, and a 16-year-old victim, from Brooklyn Park, sustained gunshot wounds. The victims said their vehicle had been taken at gunpoint.

Authorities said the injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

The stolen vehicle was a 2016 white Jeep Patriot with a Minnesota license plate and it has not yet been recovered, authorities said.

Authorities said they are seeking a male and female suspect in connection with the case but have not yet reported any additional information on the suspects.

The crime shocked the neighborhood.

"I was up with our daughter feeding her and heard gunshots outside the house," neighbor John Stromberg told FIVE EYEWITNESS NEWS. "It was kind of scary."

Police are investigating whether the suspects and victims knew each other.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Columbia Heights Police Department and the Anoka County Sheriff's Office by calling 763-427-1212.
