2 Suspects Charged in Connection to String of Armed Robberies, Shooting of Local Musician

Charges have been filed against two suspects in a string of armed robberies in Minneapolis, including one in which a popular local musician was shot.

A release from Minneapolis police said 34-year-old Jonell Butler of Minneapolis and 34-year-old Natalie Nicole Box of Hibbing are both facing multiple charges in Hennepin County and more could be added.

The charges come in connection to a string of robberies that occurred on Sept. 8, Oct. 5 and Oct. 6.

In the Oct. 5 robbery, local musician Aaron "Hix" Lee and Katie Szczepaniak were robbed and he was shot in the stomach around 10:30 p.m. 

Minneapolis police spokesperson John Elder said the incident happened at 13th Avenue Northeast and Fourth Street Northeast in the arts and entertainment district.
