A 54-year-old Moorhead woman is in custody Friday night after allegedly assaulting two police officers outside of a bar.

Michelle Beth Swenson is being held in the Clay County Jail on charges of fourth-degree assault, disorderly conduct and obstructing the legal process.

According to the city of Moorhead, officers responded to the Northsider Bar on 17th Street North around 6:45 on a report of a woman yelling profanities and refusing to leave.

The release from the city said Swenson continued to yell profanities when officers arrived and refused to follow their command to leave the bar.

Two officers eventually escorted her out of the bar, but as they tried to handcuff her, Swenson scratched and gouged at them, according to the city.

Both officers were bleeding, the release stated.
