Two people have been arrested after authorities say a woman was reportedly forced into a vehicle and shot late Sunday afternoon in Minneapolis.

John Elder, a spokesman for the Minneapolis Police Department, confirmed the two were arrested, but would not release their names. 


The incident occurred on the 900 block of West Broadway around 5:15 p.m.

A police spokesperson said the woman was assaulted and shot, suffering an injury that is not considered life-threatening. She was reportedly able to jump from the vehicle in the area of Fremont and Broadway avenues and ran to a nearby residence to call 911.

She was transported by ambulance to the Hennepin County Medical Center.
